Create links to electronic journal articles using their Document Object Identifiers (DOI).

URLs can change, but DOIs are designed to remain persistent so that links to electronic journal articles do not get broken. They are much better to use than URLs pasted in from the browser.

A growing number of electronic journal services have adopted DOIs as a way of enabling links to their resources. All you will need to do is search for an article to link to and copy its DOI number into the form below. Clicking on the 'Build URL' button will resolve the DOI into a URL that can be pasted into your application (Blackboard, ReadingLists Online, web page, etc.).

if you do not have the DOI, you can use the OpenURL method instead.

If you are interested in finding out more about DOIs you can find out more from the DOI website.

A free DOI look-up service is also available from CrossRef.
